AUDITIONS

August 4 & 6 6-8pm

Callbacks August 8 1-3pm

THE ANNEX, 1572 US Highway N, Minden

Rehearsals will begin August 10

Show dates: October 16-25

The year is 1938; the place is a small Midwestern town, where the four aging Gibbs sisters share in each other’s lives including drama, comedy, and tragedy, not to mention, sympathy, secrets, caring, anger, envy, jealousy, and love. A heart-warming and hilarious comedy.

Roles To Be Cast : 5 women, 4 men (ages are approximate)

Cora Swanson Age: 65–75

Eldest of the four sisters. Cheerful, energetic, endlessly optimistic; finds joy in everyday routines and believes that life will work itself out.

Thor Swanson Age: 65–75

Cora’s husband. Good-natured, playful, somewhat eccentric. Obsessed with health, exercise, and maintaining his physical vigor despite his age.

Ida Bolton Age: 62–72

The second sister. Thoughtful, romantic, quietly dissatisfied with the predictable life she has lived. She questions whether she has sacrificed too many of her own dreams.

Carl Bolton Age: 65–75

Ida’s husband. Successful businessman who values stability, respectability, and routine. He genuinely loves his wife but struggles to understand her growing restlessness.

Esty Morton Age: 60–70

The youngest married sister. Gentle, timid, deeply attached to the life she has always known. Dislikes conflict and fears change, preferring the comfort of familiar routines and close family ties.

David Morton Age: 60–70

Esty’s husband. Patient, kind, and easygoing. Like his wife, he has settled comfortably into a predictable life and sees little reason to disrupt it.

Arry Crampton Age: 68–78

The widowed sister. Outspoken, witty, and perceptive. She has little patience for pretense and often says what everyone else is thinking.

Homer Bolton Age: 38–48

Son of Ida and Carl. Has remained emotionally tied to his parents well into middle age. Though intelligent and capable, he has spent years postponing adulthood, particularly his marriage to Myrtle.

Myrtle Brown Age: 35–45

Homer’s longtime fiancée, Practical, patient, and quietly determined. After years of waiting, she has reached the point where she expects Homer to make a decision about their future.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
